As a young girl, I would listen to my parents tell stories of their
childhood. My imagination was fired by images of far away places and
tales that delighted and surprised as we shared special storytelling
nights around an open fire, often celebrated with chocolate or homemade
cakes.
The magic of storytelling stayed with me, and as I matured I found
myself weaving such stories into my life and into my jewellery.Driven
by my passion for antique and vintage treasures and coupled with a
flair for design and colour, I began working with an eclectic mix of
materials from various eras.
I would sense a story emerging. Sometimes the story would embrace
the history of the piece or the various stones, crystals and beads.
Even the daily events of the world had influence over the crafting of
each design.
I soon found that my work resonated with others who shared a
perceived beauty in the work and significance in the meaning. People
soon expressed the desire to have me provide them with treasures of
their own and so Cantadora was born.
To meet the markets growing demand for Cantadora's unique jewellery
in 2007, Cantadora released its Adorning the Myth collection. (See
